THE WORLD IS ROUND

When I worked in corporate companies, especially when I was a senior executive, the problems that I experienced within a day sometimes would really reach their peaks. Managerial problems, problems with clients, one-to-one problems with the top management, problems with my team…  I sometimes thought that I would not handle them. When I got out from the bank, at late hours sometimes, I thought I had left these problems at the business place and was going home without them.

At home, of course, there was a completely different environment, as there is for everybody. As my husband and I worked in different sectors, we would not talk much about our businesses. After a while, I noticed that the problems and the things in my mind came together with me home, although we did not talk about the business at home. They stayed with me at home until I went to work in the morning. I again noticed that I lived for years with different problems somewhere in my mind day and night.

I solved some of these problems. And, I didn’t solve some of them. Knowingly or unknowingly, I postponed some of them. But the truth is that I did live together with them.

When I wanted to discharge the burden of them, what a pity, long years had passed. And, I realized that I still hadn’t solved and got rid of some of them.  

Some of these problems were about relations. Now, I usually say it to myself:

If only I had received my coaching training at that time or had an executive coach. I could have gone through those times more easily.

Now, I am saying to you that postponing daily problems related to your business and carrying them together with you, knowingly or unknowingly, won’t you give anything. On the contrary, whether you are aware of them or not, they take a lot from you. Do you know when you realize it? When you have bad health or you can no more stand them and your behaviors become so different that you are warned by your beloved ones that you are too angry.

Before such warnings are made to you, it would be best to find solutions for problems related to your business. Otherwise, they will confront you again, being bigger and stronger.

 Because the world is round!
